Introduction to the HEP Group
High Energy Physics (HEP), or particle Physics, is the study of the fundamental constituents
of matter and their interactions.
The HEP group at the University of Gaziantep carries out research on data from the
ALEPH
experiment at the Large Electron-Positron Collider,
LEP, located at
CERN,
Geneva.
The work involves the data analysis of millions of
physics events (25k gif)
collected by the ALEPH detector.
The founding members of the HEP group in Gaziantep,
Dr Ayda Beddall and
Dr Andrew Beddall,
are associated with the
ALEPH experiment via the University of
Sheffield HEP Group where they both completed their PhD.
