Nükleer Fizik Laboratuvarı

The experiments performed in this laboratory are designed such that undergraduate students can verify for themselves that a theoretical prediction agrees with observed experimental results for the radioactivity measurement. There are different types of Geiger Müller Counters and a computer based NaI(Th) Scintillation Counter with Multi-Channel Analyser (MCA) in this laboratory. There are also different kinds of radioactive sources emitting different particles at different energies. Examples of these sources used in the experiments, by the undergraduate students, are 22Na (Gamma), 54Mn (Gamma), 57Co (Gamma), 60Co (Gamma), 90Sr (Beta), 133Ba (Gamma), 137Cs (Gamma), 210Po (Alpha).
